Pins and Needles - Day 3

I forgot to take a picture of Day 2 - my utmost apologies, but I hope that is not to much of a problem it involved a lot of cutting of cans. We cut out the displacer top and bottom that day as well as the pressure vessel, but were to scared to actually poke the hole for fear of not finding the center. We tried measuring it via white board and projector, but when looking at it it really did not seem to center so we decided to go with the water drop technique, all fingers crossed that it is the actually center -- it looked right, so that's always good. That is a quick recap of the previous week.

Now this week, we gathered the courage to actually poke the hole in both the pressure vessel and displacer, and both looked very accurate. So next we used RTV to put the needle attached to the pressure vessel top - but then we found out that we were suppose to use JB Welds so then we quickly went over to the sink and grab a few paper towels and wiped it off - and then applied the JB Welds (problem solved) We sealed it from both the top and bottom - so hopefully it should be air tight. next We began working on the sanding to curve the part that connects to the balloon and also cut out the stand for the crank shaft and all looks good as of now. Only a few minor war wounds (small scratches) from the medal and no serious injuries yet, I would say we are on our way. More updates to come
